Elizabeth Simmons Allen was born in Salt Lake City, Utah. She studied ceramics and art education at Brigham Young University and earned an MFA in visual arts at Washington University in St. Louis. She resides in St. Louis where she spends the majority of her time chasing her three young children and making art.
